In light of the contemporary challenges at multilateral level, ranging from global governance to climate change or development, Latin American countries have emerged an indispensable partner to the European Union and its member states. Given the current troublesome anti-democratic tendencies worldwide, progressive parties, government and civil society on both sides need to strengthen their ties in order to stimulate a discussion on how to strengthen a fruitful partnership between Europe and Latin America and to defend common positions on global stability, sustainable development and democracy.

The EU-Latin America Progressive Dialogue, which is organised by the Global Progressive Forum in cooperation with the European Trade Union Confederation and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, brings together various stakeholders to discuss the current situation in Brazil and Argentina and its impact on the region as well as on the future EU-Latin America cooperation.

The conference will take place on March 20th from 3pm to 6pm in the European Parliament (Room AG3G).
