Dr. Tobias Mörschel
Dr. Tobias Mörschel has worked for FES for over two decades. He became Director of the EU Office in 2024. Previously, he headed the FES offices in Italy and Latvia. He studied History, Political Science and German Literature in Freiburg, Dublin, Berlin and Rome and holds a PhD in History.
Philipp M. Goldberg
Philipp M. Goldberg joined FES in 2016. He previously led its offices in Mali and Senegal, after working as a governance adviser at the SADC Secretariat in Botswana. He holds degrees in International Security Studies (University of Bradford) and African Studies (University of Leipzig).
Valentina Berndt
Valentina Berndt is Managing Editor of the IPS Journal. She previously worked at the German Permanent Representation to the EU and co-created the Lossi36 online journal. She studied Central, Eastern European, Russian and Eurasian Studies in the Netherlands, Scotland, Estonia and Kazakhstan.
Tobias Beylat
Tobias Beylat studied International Migration and Intercultural Relations in Osnabrück and Arabic Studies, Cultural and Social Anthropology in Münster. He worked for the DAAD in Amman, the Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research, and for the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund.
Alena Bieling
Alena Bieling works as an Editor at the IPS Journal. Previously, she handled communications at the EURACTIV Media Network, where she wrote articles on diversity and social equality. Alena studied Journalism, International Politics and Human Rights in Belgium, the Netherlands and France.
Mehdi Chaabouni
Mehdi Chaabouni joined FES in 2019. He is the Regional IT Administrator for MENA, Francophone Africa and Europe and Coordinator/Technical Advisor. He works on the deployment of hardware and software, IT support and advises management on the development of the international IT project.
Eda Emre
Eda Emre holds a Master's degree in European Studies from the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). Before joining FES as a project coordinator, she worked as a project manager at the VKU Academy in Berlin.
Tobias Fisch
Tobias Fisch develops proposals for EU-funded projects with FES offices worldwide. Previously, he worked at the Goethe-Institut on EU-funded projects. He studied European Studies, Conflict Studies, International Relations and Diplomacy Studies in Amsterdam, Leuven and the College of Europe.
Naïla Chikhi
Jacqueline Hérin
Jacqueline Hérin joined FES in 2019. She is responsible for Facility & Office Management, Contract Tendering and Procurement. She is also a Prevention Advisor. Jacqueline gained professional experience as a Personal Assistant and Office Manager in large companies in Germany and Belgium.
Marleen Heyndrickx
Marleen Heyndrickx joined FES in 2019 and is responsible for HR, prevention and protection at work, Finances & Accounting. She holds a Master’s degree in Translation and Interpretation (German/English/Dutch). She has previously worked in both private companies and non-profit organisations.
Daniela Iller
Daniela Iller joined FES in 2006, working on EU external relations and strategic partnerships. Since 2019, she has been in charge of Trade & Development Policy. Previously, she worked for the SPD Berlin and the German Bundestag. She studied Political Science in Leipzig, Lyon and Berlin.
Véronique Kieffer
Véronique Kieffer joined FES in 2007. She is responsible for the smooth running of events, the supervision of interns and areas of HR. She studied Music (Maastricht) and previously worked for the Representation of Saxony-Anhalt in Brussels as well as for private companies in Germany.
Vanesa Knoop
Vanesa Knoop is Finance Coordinator for EU-funded projects. Previously, she worked for the FES Regional Project Nueva Sociedad and the city government of Buenos Aires. She holds degrees in International and Development Economics (Berlin) and Business Administration (Buenos Aires).
Jasmin Kohl
Jasmin Kohl is a trained journalist. Previously, she worked as an EU Correspondent for Europe.Table, the Spokesperson’s Service of the EUCommission and media outlets in Germany. She studied in Germany, France, and Belgium and holds degrees in Franco-German Studies and European Studies.
Fadhela Lakhdari
Fadhela Lakhdari develops proposals for EU-funded projects and advises on implementation. She previously coordinated EU projects in France, worked for an NGO on migrants’ and refugees’ legal protection, and for EACEA. She studied Foreign Languages and EU Studies in Austria, France and the UK.
Agnes Mach
Agnes Mach joined FES in 2017. She is part of the global FES platform Gender Justice Innovation Network. She studied European Politics in Bremen, Frankfurt (Oder), Krakow and Prague, as well as completing a specialisation course on Gender and Sexuality at the Université libre de Bruxelles.
Ingmar Naumann
Ingmar Naumann holds degrees in Political Science and International Relations, with research stays in South Sudan and the USA. He previously worked as a research assistant in the German Bundestag, as a press spokesperson and as managing director of the SPD parliamentary group in Saarland.
Jonathan Schnock
Jonathan Schnock covers Economic and Digital Policy as well as Social Europe. Previously, he worked at the European Parliament and the College of Europe. He holds degrees in International Relations and European Studies from the universities of Osnabrück, Dresden, and the College of Europe.
Marco Schwarz
Marco Schwarz works on Democracy, Rule of Law, EU Integration and Enlargement Policy. He previously worked for the Union of European Federalists Germany in Berlin. Marco studied Political and Social Sciences at the University of Göttingen, with semesters in Czechia, Spain and Russia.
Annika Thöt
Annika Thöt coordinates public relations. Previously, she managed the FES European Trade Union Dialogue. She worked at the European Commission’s Internal Communication and Delegations unit, and as a journalist. Annika studied Communication and History in Mainz, Berlin, Budapest and London.
Sidonie Wetzig
Sidonie Wetzig joined FES in 2006, covering global governance and chairing ENoP’s Working Group on Sustainable Development. She studied history and political science in Germany, the UK and France, and worked at the Franco-German Youth Office and the German Historical Institute in Paris.
Andrea Zingui
Andrea Zingui joined the EU Office in 2024 and ensures the smooth budget management. She has more than 15 years of experience in financial administration thanks to her previous posts at FES Cameroon and in the FES Competence Centre Future of Work.
