FES Regional Climate and Energy Project MENA, the FES EU Office and PRIO Cyprus Centre are jointly organising an online workshop concerning East Med Gas developments and the future of energy in the region.

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung has convened an experts’ group as part of its project on climate and energy in this region. The group assesses the complexities of gas developments in the Eastern Mediterranean looking at economic, political, and environmental consequences.

In this third workshop in a series, we want to discuss the experts groups’ findings particularly in view of the use of renewables in the East Med, their potential in conflict resolution and the role the EU and the European Green Deal play in this context.

The webinar will feature inputs by Nicolas Jarraud, Assistant Vice President for Institute Affairs Cyprus Institute followed by comments by Cyril Dewaleyne, Energy and Climate Change Programme Manager, DG NEAR, European Commission.
