Green Diplomacy in Action: Is the EU-Namibia Partnership on Raw Materials Geared Towards Sustainable Development?

A catalyst for mutual economic growth and development

In the field of raw materials and energy diplomacy, the EU has forged strategic alliances with countries around the world, all of which are dedicated to strengthening resource security and promoting sustainable development. Among these partnerships, the Strategic Partnership between the EU and Namibia on Sustainable Raw Materials and Green Hydrogen stands out as a flagship project. With this approach, the EU and Namibia aim to strengthen cooperation in the extraction, processing and use of green hydrogen, thus creating a catalyst for mutual economic growth and development. 

With Deon Shekuza (Youth Advisory Panel Member, Global Center on Adaptation), Graham Hopwood (Executive Director, Institute for Public Policy Research) and MEP Joachim Schuster, we will discuss the future and potentials of this green partnership. How can this collaboration be shaped to benefit local communities, fostering job creation, economic growth, and value-chain development?
