"Fight against corruption and for good public finance management": EU-financed project in Mali 13.04.2023 With the help of EU funds, a new FES-project in Mali sets out to tackle corruption. Young Malians take centre stage in the fight against corruption On 16 March 2023, FES Mali and project partner Centre d'Etudes et de Réflexion au Mali ( CERM) launched their new EU project "Fight against corruption and for good public finance management in Mali (PROLAC-GFP)". This project is facilitated by our EU Projects team in Brussels. Over the next three years, it will help to enrich and improve mechanisms for the participative management of public finances by specifically encouraging students, civil servants and other civil society actors in Bamako and Segou to play an active role in combatting corruption. The public kick-off event and press conference took place in Bamako, featuring speeches from Bart Ouvry, EU Ambassador for Mali; Sékou Diarra, President of CERM; and Gaoussou Dagnoko, Coordinator of PROLAC-GFP. The latter highlighted the important role of youth as strong actors in the fight against corruption. Watch the highlight video (in French only!) here.
